Family Friendly Leave & Pay

Who:  Employees and People Managers should discuss and agree options available under Amey's Family Friendly Policies.

What: These are contractual statutory pay and benefits that support you if you are about to become parents or already have parental responsibilities. 

Individually they are known as:

  • Adoption & Surrogacy leave
  • Maternity leave and pay
  • Parental leave and pay
  • Parental Bereavement leave and pay
  • Paternity leave and pay
  • Shared Parental leave and pay
  • Carers Leave

Why:  You have a responsibility to comply with the procedures and notice periods for requesting leave in respect of family policies and your People Manager should support you to ensure requests are dealt with promptly and fairly.  Leave in these instances will impact your pay and so the timeliness of the request, approval and associated evidence is essential. 

When:

Adoption Leave & Pay

No more than 7 days after the date on which you have been notified of having been matched with a child for the purpose of adoption.

Maternity Leave & Pay

By the beginning of the 15th week before the expected date of childbirth.

Parental Leave & Pay

21 days notice in writing must be provided, prior to parental leave commencing.

Paternity Leave & Pay

No later than 28 days prior to the date you want your paternity leave to commence.

Shared Parental Leave & Pay

A minimum of 8 weeks notice must be provide of Shared Parental Leave

 

How:

Adoption Leave & Pay

Review Amey's Adoption Leave and Pay Guidance & Procedures, discuss your requirements with your People Manager.

Complete a Special Leave Request Form and gain signed approval from your People Manager.

Submit your form and attach supporting documentation via the People Portal.

Maternity Leave & Pay

Review Amey's Maternity Leave and Pay Guidance & Procedures, discuss your requirements with your People Manager. 

Complete a Maternity Leave and Pay Form.

Submit your request and attach supporting documentation (MATB1) via the People Portal.

Parental Leave & Pay

Review Amey's Parental Leave and Pay Guidance, discuss your requirements with your People Manager.

Complete a Special Leave Request Form and gain signed approval from your People Manager.

Submit your request via the People Portal.

Paternity Leave & Pay

Review Amey's Paternity Leave and Pay Guidance & Procedures, discuss your requirements with your People Manager.

Complete a HMRC Statutory Paternity Pay and Leave Form.

Submit a request and attach supporting documentation via the People Portal.

Shared Parental Leave & Pay

Review Amey's Shared parental Leave Pay and Guidance Procedures, discuss your requirements with your People Manager.

Complete the relevant Shared Parental Leave Form; different forms apply for adoption, maternity and surrogacy.
