Women's Festival - Taking the lead
- A celebration of Women at Amey
- Learning and development opportunities for all
- Local networking events at locations around the UK

Thursday 20 October was the Women at Amey's second annual Women’s Festival ‘Taking the lead’.
Leadership means different things to different people. It is not just about climbing the career ladder and becoming a senior leader. It’s about the decisions we make for ourselves at work and in our personal lives. The festival included a number of online events and local face to face networking sessions.
Let's all be a bit more Preet
We were lucky enough to have a chat with Preet Chandi about breaking boundaries. As well as being a physiotherapist in the British Army, earlier this year she became the first female to complete a solo, unsupported 700-mile journey to the South Pole, spending 40 days alone on the ice. She's now training for phase 2 of her expedition to become the first female to cross Antarctica, solo and unsupported. As one of Preet's sponsors, we couldn't be more proud of her drive and determination.

Imposter Syndrome Panel Debate
Listen again our fantastic speakers on the panel, as well as insights from the audience about their experiences and advice for others.
The group challenged the notion of Imposter Syndrome and discussed how to tackle obstacles that may stop women from going after opportunities and most importantly saying yes!

Bolder Steps Together
We’re taking Bolder Steps Together to increase representation of women across all roles, as well as support and develop women at Amey. This aligns to our commitment in our sustainability and social value strategy (Bolder Steps Together) to “create an inclusive workplace where everyone can develop and has the freedom to perform”.
