Stephanie Phipps

I’m a Health and Safety Business Partner for the Secure Infrastructure business at Amey, leading on health and safety across our England FM and Defence contracts across the UK. My role is extremely varied with different challenges every day whilst ensuring our services are delivered safely.   

Following my BSc and MSc, I joined Amey on the Management Graduate Scheme, rotating around the business units gaining experience in different roles for two years, with my final placement in the Health and Safety team where I fell in love with safety! 

I love the vast array of opportunities that are available at Amey, the different business areas, different job roles and there are a lot of learning and development options. I’ve been supported and encouraged to progress with my skills development and technical competencies and I’m currently on the Leadership Development Programme for women. Everyone supports each other in Amey, Women are empowered to develop their careers over time I have experienced a real family feel with Amey colleagues.   

I love my job and my priority is ensuring all of our teams work safely.  

My advice for anyone looking to develop their career is to make sure you set your goals and know what you need to do to reach them. Be aware that you’ll have to work really, really hard and it won't be easy, but it will always be worth it!
